Lock down in Ratnagiri to break the chain

            Corona has been here for more than a year. Here is a link to look back to previous days of corona in Ratnagiri.  

              In the last year once the district was even declared as a Corona free district ! In this link you will find more about it just to look back.  

        Now the new lock down has been announced in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. This lock down is from 02nd June, 2021 to the midnight of 08th June, 2021. The Collector Of Ratnagiri district has issued the necessary orders in this regards on 01st June, 2021. This lock down is going to be strictly implemented, as mentioned in the orders. All the shops except the medical and farming goods will be closed completely. 

This is the first June of 2021. From tomorrow more news will be published in this post. Let's wait for few hours...

An update : 

As expected, there is a slight change in the period of lock down in Ratnagiri. The revised lock down is now from midnight of 02nd June, 2021 to the midnight of 09th June, 2021. The Collector Of Ratnagiri district Mr. Laxminarayan Mishra has issued the necessary revised orders in this regards. 

      

Heavy rain in Ratnagiri

1. There has been raining heavily for last 3 to 4 days in Ratnagiri.  In fact, the weathercast was declared by the weather authority already. Here are some pictures from a Facebook post by Sainath Pednekar.  

These pictures are from the Shere Naka area in Ratnagiri.  The level of water will go on increasing if the heavy rainfall continues.   Let's hope it will not  ! Let's see what happens next.

 The Corona virus is spreading in Ratnagiri District.  Ratnagiri city is also undergoing some changes.  As it is very clear now that we have to live with the corona virus,  the city which was totally licked down,  is now shaping towards the other end.  Ratnagiri city is now somewhat standing upright in this fight against the corona virus. The bazareth or market area,  the roads, moving people are speaking themselves.  Here are some pics and vids of Ratnagiri city market  area which is taking momentum now :

 

         It is a lovely  news that No Positive patient of corona virus is found on Saturday the 06.06.2020 in Ratnagiri District  !

Fire broke

Fire near Ratnagiri city. 

Fire broke in Killa area near Ratnagiri city on 24.05.2020 @08.30 pm. This place is very well known as the Ratnadurg Fort is situated here.  The fire is spreading around quickly.  The are has dense locality.  The houses are close to each other.  The fire brigade has reached the spot and is trying hard to control the fire.  The reason of fire is still unknown.

Corona comeback

Looking like victory,  turned into battle again ! It was 08 cases stand and everything came to a standstill situation,  suddenly changed into a new crucial fight against corona virus once again . The district has found new cases and the total tally goes to 18 now. Even in Ratnagiri Nurse training centre , a trainy nurse is corona virus positive ! There are 150 students and the concerned trainy nurse might have contacted more. The 150 students have been quarantined and the people are on the alert once again. Ratnagiri is a developing city and considering this there are buildings at one side and zopadpatti on the other side,  have to be taken into account.  There are societies where many people are living side by side. The land has limitations of it's own and can not increase further. Hence , multistory buildings are coming into existence in this city. The population is increasing day by day as well as the tourist , traders do visit this city. There is a mango business running these days on a larger scale as a seasonal trade plus there is a big market for fish . It is enough to spread the corona virus. What has happened in Mumbai and Pune can happen in Ratnagiri.  The people can go on the roads , into the markets , rush for the liquor,  drink and beat the drums once again . They can become fearless and go for the trips in the hilly area or they can go to the beaches on the sea shore. Anything can happen but the one thing that will happen surely  is the spread of corona virus,  as it has happened in the Mumbai , Pune , Aurangabad, Nashic , Nagpur etc. People behavior is unfortunately not  co-operative in many parts of the country  . The people are making contacts and getting corona virus on their own ! This is the main reason that the tally is increasing every day. Corona virus is wining and people are dying, but not learning the lesson! This must be changed and we have to win at any cost! People must declair and obey the no social contact slogan ! They must stay at their homes at least for few more days, because this is the only way to win over Corona virus.

                 An Update here  : At 09 pm today,  the news came that the corona tally has gone up to 34 today.  There are 13  new patients today, 11 found positive in one place I. e.  in Mandangad tahsil ! 02 cases from the Khed tahsil.

           Ganga is a holy river in Rajapur taluka of Ratnagiri district in Maharashtra state of India. Rajapur is a taluka in the Ratnagiri District in the Konkan region of Maharashtra State in India. It was one of the famous market in historical times. The great king Shivaji had visited this historical place. It was a safe port in the konkan area. It is on the banks of Arjuna river. British colony was there. The famous temple of Dhutpapeshwar is also in this city. There is also a river named Ganga in Rajapur. It is called Rajapur Ganga. There are 14 ponds (kundas) which suddenly get filled with the flowing water. The water flows there for three months and goes back suddenly as it comes. This happens after every three years. But as an exception, sometimes this happens in the next following year too. But this is rare. There are hot water's small ponds called zare in local language at Unhale village of Rajapur.

Corona virus in my city

The corona has entered in my city Ratnagiri. There have been three cases until now. Few areas in the city have been sealed.The effect of locked down is generally good in the city. Very few grocery shops are opened. There are not many people on the roads. The banks are opened. People are going for the very essential tasks. They are using the mask now. Few days before there were some issues between the medical staff inquiring in homes about the sick persons and the local people in one or two areas. Police have handled such incidents very wisely , hence everything is under control now. Police are patrolling very nicely. Administration is working as per the standards set in corona virus conditions. Some of the medical staff is going door to door and making inquiries daily. The administration, the police and the medical staff including the Aasha employees are taking every precaution in this regard. There is not much fear of course in the city. But everybody is taking care now. In fact, everybody must ! Now the police are continously taking rounds even in the surrounded village areas too ! Continuous checking is going on. There are few check posts to. When people don't have self discipline, the police have to teach them and they are doing their best. We are thankfull to the Collectorate, the police department and the doctors, nurses, wardboys , peons , sweepers, the Aasha employees and even the people who are taking the locked down very seriously and staying at home. Let's hope that the corona virus go out of this world.
