The FISHERIES COLLEGE OF RATNAGIRI IN NEWS
Now a days , the fisheries college in Ratnagiri is in great news. It was established in 1981 . In 1998 the Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University ( MAFSU) Law came into existence . Due to this , the fisheries college of Ratnagiri was joined to Mafsu at Nagpur . It was a strange decision by the Government to link fisheries college to Nagpur , where there is no sigh of any sea ! Ratnagiri is situated in Konkan area which has 720 kms seashore !
Since Year 2000, the Fisheries College at Ratnagiri was handed over to the Konkan Krishi Vidhyapith , Dapoli , Dist. Ratnagiri . Due to a technical point of the missing word fish , the degree giving authority was still remain the Mafasu at Nagpur . Now The breaking news is that the degrees since year 2000 are not valid as they have been given by the Konkan Krishi Vidhyapith, Dapoli and not by the Mafsu at Nagapur ! Now the Court has also directed the Government to do the required changes in the law , so that these degrees and further degrees be valid.
